Press Release: A Successful European Conference for EU project DC4AC

 European Institute for Local Development has successfully organized the final conference for theRegional Centre for Dual Career Politics and Advocacy - DC4AC. The conference took place on 2nd and 3rd of June, in the city of Nafplio (Greece), at “Vouleftikon Venue”, known for its historical essence.

The welcome speech was given by the mayor of the Municipality of Nafplio, Mr. Dimitrios Kostouros, who has highlighted the significance of such international actions, giving emphasis in the essence of supporting Dual Career of Athletes.

Afterwards, the President of European Institute for Local Development took the floor to underline the significance and the impact ofDC4AC Projectfor European Union.

During the Conference, all representatives of partner organizations made some interesting presentations and displayed to the audience the outputs of the project. Partner organizations are: European Institute for Local Development (Greece), National institute for Sport Research (Romania), Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra – Faculty of Education (Slovakia), Asociatia Invenio (Romania), Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy), University of Physical Education in Budapest (Hungary), University of Primorska Science and Research Centre (Slovenia).

The conference was open to the public (2ndof June) and was successfully attended by Greek elite athletes, such as Mr. Tsaldaris Dimitrios (representative of Greek Foundation of Professional Athletes and famous basketball player), who expressed their apprehension and thoughts about Dual Career. Also, professors of Greek Universities of Physical Education participated by making intriguing presentations, explaining their point of view and making suggestions about Dual Career.

Local authorities and Municipality of Nafplio were really helpful for the accomplishment of the conference and provided the best hospitality to the guests.
